What should the Blessed Mother awaken in us? The urge for the highest. J. K.
CALLED
“Mary, Mother of Yes. You listened to Jesus. You knew the sound of his voice and his heartbeat. You, Morning Star, speak to us about him!” are the words of a song.
Once, in front of a Pietà, I realized what they mean. I realized that no one accompanied Jesus for a longer time than his mother. No one experienced as directly as she how he organized his life practically and what his priorities were in everyday life. As a human being, with her “yes” and her love, she lived and spelled out God’s radical devotion, his absolute love.
Who in this world can tell us better than she what is important in life? Who can better lead us to the heights of our existence?
